The Muziekcentrum van de Omroep (MCO) is the home of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra , Groot Omroepkoor and Metropole Orkest. MCO offers high-profile concert programs with top soloists and top ensembles for audiences of all ages. In addition, the MCO rents out high-quality and atmospheric halls and studios for recordings, rehearsals, meetings or events.
The Netherlands Broadcasting Music Center in Hilversum is fully equipped to accommodate three orchestras, as well as a large choir. The first studio was built in 1931 and in 1995 it was taken into use by the Netherlands Broadcasting Music Center.
The largest studio of the MCO with generously stepped orchestra stage and spacious choir balcony. Studio 5 is specially designed as a rehearsal and recording studio for the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra/Groot Omroepkoor, equipped with its own control room. This studio features a Steinway D concert grand and a Steinway B grand.
This studio is very suitable for group activities (shows, presentations). Furnished as a theater hall, with a dance floor and sound and light facilities. Features a Grotrian Steinweg grand piano and can accommodate up to 180 vistors.
